Thereby making sure that you never run out of your essential medications.

Using our 30-day prescription refill calculator is a breeze. Simply enter the date you took your first dose from your current 30-day prescription supply or the date your prescription was filled in the fill date input field on our tool.

You can make your input either by typing in the date or by selecting it from the calendar by clicking the date picker icon.

Our calculator will automatically count forward 29 days from the date of your first dose. This 29th day is the date when you’ll need to take the final dose from your current 30-day supply.

To determine the start date of your next 30-day refill period, simply add one day to the final dose date. For example, if your last scheduled dose was on July 5th, then July 6th marks the beginning of your next 30-day refill cycle.

Always stay on schedule. Note that each 30-day prescription supply is intended to last for 30 days. The final dose date signals the end of the current 30-day cycle.

The following day kicks off the next 30-day window when you can obtain your refill. It is always advisable to go for refill at least 3 days before you run out.

How to Calculate a 30-Day Prescription Refill

Calculating your 30-day prescription refill is not difficult. All you need to do is first calculate the days supply of the medication and then march it with the date on your calendar.

To calculate the day supply, use the following formula:

Days Supply = Total Quantity Dispensed / (Dosage Per Time × Frequency Per Day)

Where:

  1. Total Quantity Dispensed is the total number of units (e.g., tablets, capsules, or milliliters) provided in your 30-day prescription supply.
  2. Dosage Per Time is the amount of medication you need to take each time you take a dose (e.g., 1 tablet or 5 milliliters).
  3. Frequency Per Day is the number of times you need to take the medication each day (e.g., once daily, twice daily, or three times daily).

Example Calculation

If you were dispensed 30 tablets of a medication to be taken as 1 tablet twice daily on January 1st. Your next refill date for the 30-day supply will be calculated as follows:

Days Supply = Total Quantity Dispensed / (Dosage Per Time × Frequency Per Day)

Days Supply = 30 tablets / (1 tablet × 2 times per day)

            = 30 tablets / 2 tablets per day

            = 15 days

To determine the refill date, simply count 15 days starting from the date you took the first dose of the medication. If you took the first dose on January 1st. Then your refill date will be January 15th. This date is also the date that you will take your last dose of the medication.
